Meet the new RIM Blackberry 8830 World Edition smartphone which makes up part of the existing 8800 Series recently released.
Codenamed Cyclone, the Blackberry 8830v features Verizon Wireless technology and looks stunning in Silver and its full Qwerty keyboard and trackball roller makes for easier typing and menu migration.
A Quad Band handset, the Blackberry 8830 smartphone, unsurprisingly reminds you of the Blackberry 8800 in both looks and functionality offering an almost identical specification list expect for the fact that the Blackberry 8830v is far more compact, lighter and stylish.
A result of combining GSM and CDMA roaming and the first of its kind to successfully do so, the Blackberry 8830 offers EDGE technology for additional data roaming in up to 62 countries.
Checking for the last network connected to, the Blackberry 8830 will automatically select the appropriate network depending on the country you are in.
Set to be released sometime in mid May to the beginning of June, the Blackberry 8830v, one of Verizon's test subjects, comes with expandable memory and extended battery life which allows for up to 216 hours of standby on CDMA and an incredibly 384 hours on GSM, that's 16 days!
