Benefon Twig Discovery Mobile Phone
Producers of the world's first mobile phone to include a built-in answering machine and specialising in GSM handsets with GPS (Global Positioning System) Capabilities, the Finnish Company Benefon have now released the Benefon Twig.
Probably better known as the Benefon Twig Discvery, this handset combines built-in GPS with the Twig Satellite Navigation System providing a complete integrated solution and the first personal navigation device to be available on the market.
Maps can either be downloaded via GPRS or installed with a memory card and live traffic reports and other information are then pulled by the Twig Discovery whereby the route can then be recalculated by the Satellite Navigation to avoid any delays or traffic jams and the huge advantage to this handset is that it removes the need for an additional GPS receiver.
Running on a 312Mhz processor, the Benefon Twig is a Tri Band handset with Bluetooth Wireless, Wap Browser and Email Client which can synchronise with MS Outlook and Lotus Notes.
